This was a fantastically funny book. I especially loved the 'Chorus', the 'narrator' who is described as 'just a grandiose nutter who can't help himself bursting through the fourth wall like a great dim-witted battering ram' on page 283. This book is a mash-up of many of Shakespeare's plays including both comedies and tragedies. It also plays with Poe's Cask of Amontillado. The author helpfully explains how this slight of hand is done in the Afterword.

This book does have have a lot of 'shagging', violence, and use of various forms of the f-word (f***wad being my personal favorite) so it's not for everyone. It also makes mild fun at the difference in the Old Testament and New Testament God so if you are religious this may not be the best book for you. But for anyone else who wants a good laugh out loud book that is extremely well plotted, I can't recommend this book highly enough. Not many books have a recurring joke that not wearing underwear might make people 'think you wanton' that just gets funnier as the book goes on. I would give it 6 stars if I could.
