Maybe because I have read many golden age detective novels, I didn't find the 80 pages of setting the scene a problem and once past that part of the story, the plot was awesome. I won't spoil it for anyone else but don't worry it is worth the wait. I have to pick up the first one in this series too. I received this book as part of the First Reads program but that did not influence my review.
